The Roulette game exists in two variations- the French Roulette and the American Roulette. Most of the online casinos have both of them, which are part of other popular games such as Blackjack, backgammon and of course online poker.

The basics are the same in both versions.

However we are not going to talk much about the game itself, we will be focusing more about the rules of Roulette.

The first rule is called the “En Prison” rule- it is applied to even money bets only, and by some casinos. Meaning, that when the outcome is zero in some casinos the player will be able to either take back half of his bet or leave the bet (en prison=in prison) for another roulette spin. In the second time, if the balls fall on zero again, the whole bet is lost.

The second rule is “La Partage” rule- this rule is very similar to the en prison rule, only in this case the player loses half the bet and does not have the option of leaving the bet en prison for another spin,

Eventually, the en prison and La partage rule cut the casino edge on the even money bets in half.
